Ride up Caribou

Last week on Friday our little group of people putted up Tincup then turned onto Mosquito Ranch.  When they say mosquito they mean it!  I stepped out of the truck and after about 3 seconds went by I was covered in mosquitos. So after lots of mosquito spray we hopped on our bikes and went on a ride. We went up to Morgan Meadows first then shot up to the top of Caribou. Only 5 other guys and me made it to the top out of a group of 8. We then went back to camp because we were losing light fast. On the way back down Matt Nelson had a Black Bear run out in front of him. Heart pounding. All of us made it back to camp and we went to sleep. The next day we made it to the top again. Then we went and found the old copper mines. After finding the old copper mines we went and found an old cabin. Kyle Weber took the photos that are here.

I had a few minutes during work to go take some photos. I was messing around with aperture on my camera. The second set of photos shows depth of field the best. The first one f 4.0 made the background and in front very blurry. The second one f 22 made the background almost in focus and the front of it in focus.

Bad Wreck

On Saturday me and Collin Humphries, and Logan Haderlie went up on a dirt bike ride up deer creek. Just a few days before that I was shone some pretty good hills to climb. So I took them up to the hills. Collin had a little Honda one hundred and Logan had a 700 twin Polaris four-wheeler. After we climbed the first hill just fine we decided to go to the next hill. Collin and me never made it to the top; only about 4 people have made it to the top of this climb. On the very last time going up I talked Logan into climbing this hill with his four-wheeler. So he takes off and starts going up just fine and he gets about 5 feet from the very top and he hits a bush that causes the front tires to come off the ground on a very steep hill. The next thing me and Collin know is that the four-wheeler comes down and lands on Logan then flips end over end about 4 times to come to a stop in a tree. We thought Logan had broken ribs or something cause it landed right on him and he was holding his side and his shirt was almost ripped off. So here we are at the bottom of this hill a totaled four-wheeler in a tree and kind of a hurt person. So we ride our dirt bikes as close as we can and then start trying to get the four-wheeler out of the tree. After about 30 to 40 minutes and lots of hard lifting we got the four-wheeler facing down the hill. Me and Collin then hopped on the back tires since they weren’t spinning, and we started pushing it down the hill while Logan stirred. We got it to the bottom and looked at the damaged. The entire electrical console on top was broken and bent the gas line was shredded and leaking gas everywhere part of the steering column is bent in half and the back is just crushed. The worst part about the whole thing is that the four-wheeler was his dad’s. So Logan hopped on the back of my dirt bike and we sent him home he is fine but he has to pay for the four-wheeler. It was a pretty fun day!!

My awesome go cart that me and my bro made!

We made this by welding together two different frames. One from a snowmachine for the front wheels and one from a four wheeler for the back wheels. At top speed it goes any where from 90 to 120 mph. The scary thing about it, is when you go fast enough the front wheels start to shake a little bit. Other than no seat belt, no brakes, and the shaking it is very fun. In fact you can drift corners and do burn outs with it. I even got the front tires off the ground for about 5 feet when I popped the clutch.
